Dear Jack: Getting to Help With Your Cousin’s New Kittens

10 years.

Dear Jack,

Last week, we just happened to be in town when your cousin Calla got her main Christmas present: two little kittens!

It was a huge surprise to not only her, but also to you!

The two of you had so much fun taking care of the kittens; even teaching them how to use a litter box.

Selfishly, I admit- one of the reasons I am happy about her getting two little kittens for Christmas is that you now have access to pet kittens, without them actually living at our house!

Hey, this is great for everybody.

Dear Jack: Decorating the Christmas Tree

10 years.

Dear Jack,

I think it was you who was most excited about putting up the Christmas tree this year. Granted, as Mommy pointed out, we have a ridiculously small tree for a family of four.

But still, it’s still big enough to (barely) fit all the ornaments we’ve collected together as a family.

You were so proud to be able to help me, as I had to climb up into the attic to bring down on the Christmas decorations.

Notably, our Christmas tree is mainly weighed down by all the ornaments you’ve made over the years.

Your sister has some catching up to do!

Dear Holly: All You Need is Rugs

4 years, 7 months.

Dear Holly,

Shortly after getting our new floors for the downstairs, we happened to find an amazing deal on a rug to place in the living room. Our new furniture is still on its way, so the rug is quite the main attraction during play time.

You love it so much that for one of your Thanksgiving crafts last week where you had to list what you were thankful for, you listed Mommy and me, your brother… and the rug.

Forget about toys. It seems all you really need is a rug in the living room.

Dear Jack: You Got a Boy Barbie Doll That Looks Just Like You

10 years old.

Dear Jack,

One of the gifts that Aunt Dana and Uncle Andrew got you for your 10th birthday was a Barbie doll little boy who amazingly looks like you!

It’s as if Mattel used you as the model for the doll!

And like Mommy pointed out, he’s even wearing a tank top; which is mainly what you wear anytime the weather is warm.

Seriously- the hair, the eyes, the smile… the personality!

What a cool present to receive for your birthday!

You explained to me that your Jack doll has been playing alongside your Fortnite action figures.

Makes perfect sense!

Dear Holly: Thanksgiving Break Begins!

4 years, 7 months.

Dear Holly,

As the holiday season has now begun, you have had so much fun already, spending time with your cousins. You got to spend the night with your cousin Darla, who just turned 5.

I know that whatever the two of you got into, you were having a blast.

I am really looking forward to the holidays and all the time we will spend with family; this year, more than ever. I’ve even packed board games for us to play during Thanksgiving.

However, I noticed all the character pieces are missing in our Monopoly set. I think you might have something to do with that…
