Dear Holly: You Wore Your Tutu on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022

5 years, 10 months.

Dear Holly,

This past Tuesday was a very special day at your school. The date was 2-22-22. That’s a lot of two’s if you also counting the “tue” in Tuesday!

So at your school, all the girls were invited to wear tutus to celebrate the very special day.

Mommy had to drive into Nashville that morning, so it was actually me who got you all dressed that morning.

That happened to be the same day that your brother his business day at school, as he role played as the CEO of Dollar General.

So both of you had a reason to dress special on Tuesday, 2-22-22!

Love,

Daddy

Dear Holly: You Rode the Tower of Terror at Disney World!

5 years, 8 months.

Dear Holly,

This Christmas was undeniably a big deal for you: We went to Disney World!

Naturally, I had expectations that you would totally be enthralled by getting to meet the Disney princesses. But that wasn’t really your thing.

What I did not expect was for you to be too interested in the rides, other than the ones for little kids.

Yeah, I was wrong.

Because the only ride you didn’t go on, between Disney World, Epcot Center, and Hollywood Studios, was Space Mountain- and that was only because you were certifiably one inch too short!

In theory, you should have been way too terrified to go on the Terror of Terror.

But not only did you go on it, you really weren’t that scared by it.

You made a great riding partner for me the whole time! Now we know you love to go on rides- even ones that are supposed to be scary!

Love,

Daddy

Dear Holly: Yet Another Look at You as a Teenager!

5 years, 8 months.

Dear Holly,

I feel like anytime a picture is taken of you and your cousin Darla playing together, I can’t help but think the same thing every time:

That is exactly how they are going to act when they are teenagers!

The two of you have always acted this way when you play together, as if speaking your own secret language.

You are constantly pretending to go shopping, while toting purses and cell phones.

The fact that you are both the same age only intensifies the connection the two of you have!

You serve as perfect playmates.

Love,

Daddy

Dear Holly: You Definitely Believe in Santa!

5 years, 8 months.

Dear Holly,

I am so happy that I had a front row seat to watch you enthusiastically tell Santa what you want for Christmas this year!

From the very moment you sat on his lap, you began rattling off a long and very specific list of everything you hope to see under the Christmas tree this year.

I cherish this. I love it that Santa is so real to you at this age; that as your Daddy, I can help present you with that of that important childhood magic.

Something tells me this is going to be a very special Christmas…

Love,

Daddy

Dear Jack: You Made a Stunt Double for Yourself

11 years.

Dear Jack,

I had just got done talking to you downstairs in the living room. Then, I walked upstairs and saw what appeared to be you… already there!

I immediately questioned how it was possible. Then I realized it was actually a stunt double (or should I say stunt dummy?) you had arranged in your chair.

You began laughing downstairs, as you figured out I had just discovered your creation.

“I made that last night before I went to bed,” you explained.

You and your sister named it “Jackson”.

Jackson literally took the fall for you, as you and your sister gave him a toss down the stairs to see how he would hold up.

Nicely done!

Love,

Daddy
